Race Talk - Chicago to Mackinac
![]()
A full London Corinthian crew have completed the Race to Mackinac in July and are ready to tell us more about their experience racing on America's fresh waters
The Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac is the oldest and one of the most challenging annual freshwater distance races in the world, stretching 333 miles from Navy Pier in Chicago to Mackinac Island.
They've survived thunderstorms, squalls and wind holes, and sailed through Lake Michigan's high waves.
The crew's return journey from Mackinac Island to Chicago also involved sailing through the Canadian wildfire smoke with very poor visibility, but yet, they survived again!
