Dinghy - overview of courses run

The Club has been organising dinghy training courses for many seasons from our London clubhouse on the River Thames at Hammersmith. These courses are very popular and many members began by taking sailing courses with the club.

Dinghy sailing courses

• RYA accredited courses RYA Level One and Level Two. A good all round training dinghy and are ideal for those just starting out who want to learn to sail. Non members are welcome.
• 1:1 or 1:2 Private Coaching, for members only, with our highly experienced and RYA qualified instructors. Our instructors design these extended 4 hour sessions around you to focus on any aspects of sailing you want to improve.
• We also offer Sailing Skills Modules (4 hour modules), for members only. These are aimed at helping sailors further improve their dinghy sailing skills with a bias towards sailing on a river and/or racing.

Powerboat & Safety boat courses

RYA Powerboat Level 1 & 2 is a two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. The course introduces you to boating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment. It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations.
